4th of February: 5-course delicacy dinner with Essi Avellan, a Finnish Master of Wine expert
Visiting Restaurant Aihki for the third time for the popular champagne evening, Avellan has written several books and is known as an international champagne expert. The 5-course champagne dinner includes Essi's selected drink pairings for each dish - along with which Essi will host the dinner and tell stories behind the champagne, leading our guests into the world of great drinks and flavors.
The delicacy dinner 162€ (incl. program, dinner, champagne) starts at 18.00. Please specify any special diets when booking a table. We also arrange transportation in the Pyhä Area for our guests (20 € / party / direction).
Finland's Bocuse d'Or representative Johan Kurkela on a chef's visit at Restaurant Aihki 30-31.3
In March at Aihki, you will have the opportunity to get to know the skills of the Finnish representatives when Kurkela arrives at Restaurant Aihki for a chef's visit on Thursday 30.3 and Friday 31.3.
Together, Johan and Anssi implement a 6-course menu where they get to present their best creations to Aihki's guests. Recommended wines for the evening's wine program are also selected from our wine cellar for the menu.
The nearestairports are at Rovaniemi, Kittilä and Kuusamo. It takes about 1h and 40 minutes to drive from Rovaniemi to Pyhä and about 2 hrs 20 minutes to drive from Kuusamo. Kittilä is about 2 hours away. From Rovaniemi airport there is also an easy skibus connection to Pyhätunturi.
The most ecological way to reach us is train. Night train from Helsinki in a comfortable private cabin is a sustainable choice. The nearest train stations are at Kemijärvi, about 45 minutes, and Rovaniemi, about 1h 40minutes away. There is a skibus connection from both stations to Pyhätunturi.
We can also arrange pick up on request from your station with our private minibus.
The easiest route from Southern Finland to Pyhätunturi goes along the E75 or E63 road.
