We are looking for a Host / Receptionist to join our team at Pyhätunturi!

We are looking for a Host / Receptionist to join our team at Pyhätunturi, Sunday Morning Resort – a place where the silence of the fells meets top-class service. Our boutique hotel, located by the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, offers guests not only modern facilities but also experiences created by the magic of Lapland. Sunday Morning Resort has grown in recent years, attracting more and more guests seeking unforgettable moments amid the northern scenery. Sunday Morning Resort is the perfect workplace for you if you wish to work in a high-quality, atmospheric environment, care for guests’ wishes, and be part of a small, warm-hearted team.

As a Host / Receptionist, your main responsibility will be taking care of arriving and staying guests. No two days are the same in this versatile role: you’ll be assisting hotel guests with service, guidance, and upselling, supporting breakfast arrangements at the Resort, and helping with coffee and conference catering. You’ll find a description of what a typical workday looks like (and who your future colleagues are) at the end of this page!

Your Responsibilities

As a Host / Receptionist, your main responsibility is guest service and ensuring that our visitors enjoy their stay. Your tasks will be diverse and varied, including:

  • Guest service at reception: check-ins and check-outs, managing reservations, and handling guest-related matters
  • Advising guests on local activities and attractions
  • Responding to emails and phone calls from accommodation guests
  • Upselling: selling products from the lounge bar and lobby kiosk, and actively offering activities and experiences to our guests
  • Assisting with breakfast service when needed
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as housekeeping and kitchen, to ensure a smooth guest experience

We hope you have:

  • Relevant education (e.g. Hotel Receptionist, Hospitality Management) and/or work experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience with hotel reservation systems is an advantage but not required
  • A valid Hygiene Passport (Hygieniapassi); an alcohol service license (Anniskelupassi) is also considered an advantage
  • The ability to work responsibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills – as our guests come from all over the world
  • However, above all, we value a positive, can-do attitude – everything else can be learned! 🙂

We offer you:

  • Friendly colleagues and a unique working environment amid the scenic fells of Pyhä
  • A fun and versatile job where you can combine customer service, sales, and guest relations
  • The opportunity to develop your skills in the tourism and hospitality industry
  • A workplace in an excellent location, close to the services of Pyhätunturi and the ski resort
  • The possibility of staff accommodation at an affordable rent
  • Comprehensive occupational health care
  • Company ski passes for skiing enthusiasts
  • A competitive salary based on your experience
  • Training and team activities at the beginning and end of each season
  • The chance to be part of a sustainable business certified with the Sustainable Travel Finland label

A Typical Workday Might Look Like This:

Your morning often begins in the breakfast room, where you greet guests, answer their questions, and help with breakfast service if needed. After breakfast, you’ll continue working at the reception: handling email inquiries, managing reservations, checking out departing guests, and responding to sales and service questions. Throughout the day, you’ll actively engage in upselling — recommending local excursions, services, special drinks from the lounge bar, or products from the lobby kiosk. In the afternoon, you’ll welcome new guests and ensure their stay begins as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

More about your colleagues and work environment:

Your closest team members will include the Heads of Reception and Sales Services, and together with your new team, you’ll have time to get familiar with Experience Pyhä’s services and operating systems. Experience Pyhä is a local tourism company dedicated to promoting sustainable travel. Our service offering includes the high-quality boutique hotel Sunday Morning Resort, located by the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, and its award-winning fine dining Restaurant Aihki, as well as the Parkside Pyhä holiday apartments nestled beneath the slopes of Pyhätunturi.
